SIM Teow Hong

Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration (2006-2017)

Sim Teow Hong joined the start-up team for the new university as its chief financial officer in 1999. Over the years, additional functions like Facilities Management and Campus Development have been added to his portfolio He also started the investment Office, Office of Strategic Planning, Leasing Business Unit, and Business Process Improvement. He has been active in the long-term strategic planning and in developing long-term financial forecasting for the university. Sim Teow Hong served as SMU’s Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration until 28 February 2017.

In the early years of Singapore Management University Sim Teow Hong also taught in the School of Accountancy as an adjunct faculty.

Before joining SMU, Sim Teow Hong served a three-year stint as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of a family-owned real estate developer. Prior to that he worked for 18 years at Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), Singapore, initially as a regional auditor, and ultimately as the chief financial officer of the Singapore branch.

Sim Teow Hong graduated with a bachelor of accountancy degree from the University of Singapore.
